Brad Smith: Hi, I'm Brad Smith. As president and Vice Chair of Microsoft I get to work every day with people who are pursuing new solutions to global problems. On my new podcast we're going to take the themes from the book that I wrote with Carol Ann Browne, Tools and Weapons: The Promise and the Peril of the Digital Age. I'll speak with leaders and experts in technology, and policy, and culture. We'll talk about the defining moments that have shaped their paths because they're fascinating. We'll look at trends in artificial intelligence, innovative journalism, cutting edge climate science. Tools and Weapons will explore what's really moving the needle. This is an opportunity to help unravel some of these big challenges, celebrate breakthroughs, and think about how we move forward better together. For my very first season, I'm sitting down with leaders like New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
Jacinda Ardern: The more that you understand from where your information is coming from and how it's curated that in itself is an empowering thing.
Brad Smith: Legendary tech journalist, Kara Swisher.
Kara Swisher: Tech is like water. It's going to get in everywhere. It's going to drip, drip, drip at your population, for good or bad.
Brad Smith: And my good friend, Trevor Noah host of The Daily Show, who really needs no introduction.
Trevor Noah: What was amazing in that journey was just seeing how infinite technology was.
Brad Smith: My new podcast Tools and Weapons is coming soon. I hope you'll join me for these conversations. Follow or subscribe wherever you like to listen.
